Sean Zhu – CEO, President and Founder

Sean rejoined Whale in 2008 after a long tenure as VP of a successful Boston-based hi-tech corporation. He has 20 years of management and development experience in medical imaging devices, particularly colour ultrasound, and is MSc and BSc qualified. Sean provides drive, vision, and leadership to the whole organization.

John Dang -  Chief Operating Officer

John is the former VP of Sales, Marketing and Service for Philips Healthcare in China and has over 20 years of management experience in colour ultrasound and medical imaging and has an MBA and BSc in Biomedical Engineering. John’s extensive experience in both marketing and finance provides stability and direction to Whale.

Laurence Heron – VP Sales and Marketing

Laurence gained corporate management experience in the UK, USA and Australia before heading up his own successful corporation. With MBA and BSc qualifications, he has over 20 years of experience in medical devices and medical imaging. Laurence uses his international sales and marketing experience to drive our global business.

Dr. Peter Chang – Chief Technology Officer

Invited back to China through the elite “Overseas Talents Program,” Peter is a former senior scientist at Philips’s renowned Andover site, a Boston hi-tech company, and the Applied Physics Lab at University of Washington. He gained his Ph.D. from Pennsylvania State University, and has over 20 years of R&D experience, particularly in ultrasound imaging and emerging technologies. Peter’s research brilliance and organizational ability drives our development of leading edge products.

Al Kyle – Executive Business Advisor

A Harvard MBA graduate with an MSc in electrical engineering, Al is former US General Manager of HP color ultrasound business units (now part of Philips Medical). Al’s prior experience and insightful strategic analysis are invaluable in plotting and maintaining our direction.
